The World Baseball Championship in https://parimatch.in/blog/en/baseball-time-duration/ has been held since 1938 for men and since 2004 for women. In September 1986, the IOC added baseball and softball to the Summer Olympics. On July 8, 2005, at the 117th session of the IOC in Singapore, baseball and softball were removed from the list of Olympic sports, both due to insufficient popularity among most IOC member countries, and due to disagreements between the IOC and the United States Baseball League, which refused to postpone their competitions during the Olympic Games. As a result, baseball was presented for the last time at the Beijing Olympics. However, a return to the discussion of this topic after the 2012 Olympic Games is not excluded. On average, innings last:
- Tibol (4-5 years old) 3-5 innings – 1.5 hours;
- Minor League (ages 5-11) 6 innings – 2 hours;
- Major Division (9-12) – 6 (2);
- Medium (11-13) – 7 (2);
- Junior League (12-14) – 7 (2);
- Senior (13-16) – 7 (2);
- Babe Ruth (13-15) – 7 (2);
- High school (15-18) – 7 (2);
- College (18+) – 9 innings (3 hours)
- Minor League (18 years and over) – 9 (3);
- Higher (18 years and more) – 9 (3).

Rules of the game
Baseball is played by 2 teams of 9 players. The goal of the game is to make as many runs (runs) as possible, each of which starts in the corner of the sector and passes through four bases – located in the corners of the square (20×20 yards or in metric units 18.3×18.3 m). The starting base in the corner of the sector is called home. For each run starting from and ending at home, the team receives one point
Teams take turns playing attack and defense. One change, during which each team played in attack and defense, is called an inning. A normal baseball game is 9 innings, but if no winner is determined, continues in extra innings until the match is decided. Sometimes in amateur competition, tournament rules may dictate a lower number of innings.
The attack phase for each team continues until the opponent has eliminated three players from the game. At the beginning of the attack phase, the bases are free, the only player of the team is in the house, waiting for the attack from the enemy. The ball is served from a special point in the center of the square outlined by the bases, by a player on the defensive team, who is called the pitcher.
The pitcher pitches the ball in such a way that it hits another player on the defensive team – the catcher, passing over the house at a height from the knee to the shoulder of the offensive player on the team (in this phase of the game, such a player is called a better). Having successfully hit the ball with the bat in such a way that it falls to the ground within the sector, the better throws the bat and runs to first base (in this phase of the game he becomes a runner).
If the runner reaches the base faster than the opposing team can throw the ball there, he has completed the first leg of his run and is safe until the next runner comes into play. If the next better successfully hits the ball, then the team already has two runners on the field, one of them moving to first base, and the second to his next.
A runner at first base can also run to second even if the second batter fails to hit the ball. In this case, they say that he stole the base. This continues until the defensive team manages to eliminate three players from the offensive team. Each of the runners, with a successful game of partners, can get to the final base – to the house, bringing a point to their team.
A particular success of a better is a home run – a ball so successfully hit that it flies out of the field (within the playing sector), usually into the far stands. In this case, the opposing team cannot bring the ball to the base, and the player can calmly jog (under the standing ovation of the stands) runs around all the bases. At the same time, all the other runners who were at the bases also complete their journey. A home run, in the case of fully loaded bases, is worth 4 points and is called a grand slam.
Beters and runners can be knocked out of the game in several ways. Beter is eliminated when the opposing team’s pitcher manages to get three strikes against him when his batted ball is caught midair, preventing the ball from touching the ground. The runner is eliminated if he does not have time to reach the base faster than the ball is brought there, or if he is touched by an opposing player holding the ball tossed to him in his hand.
