The cinematic movie experience in the Casino is another one of Catalina’s more unusual and beloved activities. You enter the wonderfully intact theatre with its 1920s era chairs, magnificent art deco murals, and sparkling star lights on the top. So each evening at 7:30 p.m., a new film will be shown.
CATALINA ISLAND MINI GOLF
You enjoy playing mini-golf everywhere, but having the opportunity to do so is fantastic!
The 18-hole course is located in a lovely park in the town of Avalon. There are terrific trick shots here, so take out your own Happy Rory. There’s a placard detailing more about the island and the correct technique to prepare your shot at each hole, so try reading up on your island information!
MUSEUM OF CATALINA ISLAND
The Catalina Island Museum for Architecture and Culture is one of the critical things to do in Catalina for those fascinated by the late eighteenth century.
This divine design takes you through the island’s history, ancient images, ephemera, and articles from when the Wrigley family procured the island. When the Chicago Cubs did their instruction on the island, the island’s contribution in WWII, the record of transportation to the island, and, of course, the coastline being a play area for Hollywood’s Golden Period, such as the invention of one of the world’s most successful stars, Marilyn Monroe.
